Preface: While I have not had the opportunity to read and fully review the following novel yet, I am a big fan of the first two entries in this series and so wanted to do my part to help promote the third book in the series. Also, the author, KD Edwards is an amazing person overall who I’m fortunate enough to be acquainted with online, and so I’m happy to be part of the cover art reveal for the book, posted here along with a provided synopsis & “about the author” segment. I'm also confident enough (based on multiple readings of the prior two books in the series, “The Last Sun” and “The Hanged Man”) in the author and his writings to fully recommend you purchase a copy of “The Hourglass Throne” (and the prior two novels, if you don’t have them because you should & they are conveniently available in hard-copy paperback, Kindle e-book, and Audible audiobook formats) for yourself as it is now available for pre-order wherever you buy books (with a projected release date of 5-17-22). This is a contemporary fantasy series of novels that is very LGBTQIA+ inclusive and does include a character struggling with sexual trauma, so trigger-warning (TW) for anyone who does not wish to read about those issues. However, I myself was a victim of sexual trauma and still immensely enjoyed the books and was very sympathetic to the character dealing with the trauma and it was well-handled by KD Edwards’ in these novels (though this is my opinion only & we all have different limits so take care of yourself first). Also, though this site primarily deals with TTRPG’s, we’re expanding our scope to cover novels that provide creative inspiration for characters TTRPG settings, and “The Tarot Sequence” is an amazing example of such.
